Hi, I’m J.
For more than a decade I tracked every dollar my family earned and spent — importing statements every month and planning months ahead.
The software I relied on turned into an expensive business accounting platform. I wanted something built for families, so I built Emmett Money.
Frequently asked questions
What file formats can I import?
OFX, QFX, CSV, and PDF statements from your bank or credit card. Importing the same period again is checked for duplicates, so transactions aren't counted twice.
Does it connect to my bank?
It's optional. Import the statement files your bank already gives you, or connect an account through Plaid where it's available. Emmett Money never sees or stores your bank password.
Can couples or households use it?
Yes. Invite household members to share one workspace, with shared accounts, budgets, and a combined picture of your finances.
Can I control the AI features?
AI features are optional and can be turned off in Settings. They only answer questions about your own data.
Is my data private?
Your records are stored in your private account, visible only to you and the household members you invite. Numbers-hidden mode blurs balances for screen sharing.
How much does it cost, and can I cancel?
Monthly is CA$7.99/mo and Annual is CA$79/yr. Both include a 30-day free trial with everything included. Cancel anytime.
